Spurs stars speak out against racism

Spurs stars Ledley King, Aaron Lennon and Robbie Keane were the guests of honour on Tuesday as the 'Show Racism The Red Card' campaign launched a DVD to back up their quest to eradicate the scourge of racism from the footballing world.

White Hart Lane was the venue for the launch of the DVD which gives an insight into the problems that still exist in football despite many years of campaigning to stamp racism out of the beautiful game.

King and Keane appear prominently in the footage along with countless football luminaries, including former Spurs favourites Gary Lineker, Fredi Kanoute and Garth Crooks.

The event gave the opportunity for children from the Broadwater Farm School and the Prince's Trust to ask the Tottenham trio their opinions on racism in football and it was England star Ledley King who summed up the thoughts of everyone involved.

"You've got to learn to rise above racism and although some people try to ignore it but if you are faced with it all the time then that can be impossible," said King.

"The best thing to do is not to ignore and report racism whenever it happens to you or anyone around you."
