Kursk skinheads tried to disrupt a Jewish musical event, according to an October 4, 2005 report on the Russian Jewish web site Antisemitizmu.net. Shortly before the planned event, the concert hall was vandalized with antisemitic slogans. Threatening phone calls followed, warning against the “Zionist concert.” The callers vowed to disrupt the event with a bomb attack or a demonstration.
Event organizers bolstered security, police searched the venue for bombs, and the musicians delayed their arrival until the last possible moment before the concert. Concert hall employees cleaned up the graffiti beforehand. No incidents were reported during the concert.
